Richard E. Grant – Official Website

ACTOR…DIRECTOR…AUTHOR…LEGEND!>>>>REG Temple

Welcome To The REG Temple

The REG Temple is the official website for actor, author and director Richard E. Grant.

Richard has appeared in over 80 films and television programs, such as Withnail And I, The Scarlet Pinmpernel, Jack & Sarah, L.A. Story, Dracula, The Hound Of The Baskervilles, Gosford Park & The Iron Lady. In 2005 he directed his first major release, Wah-Wah.

This website is unique in that it has been run and maintained by volunteers and fans since 1998. For more information on its origins, please click here.

No Shooting Star ‘Cause Shooting Wah-Wah

January11

Just in from REG (with thanks also to Joan and Ruth – from the Shooting Star Charity – for coming to this conclusion from a different angle):

I will not be able to attend the Shooting Star gala in may as I will be filming Wah-Wah in Swaziland. We start filming at the end of April.
Cheers
Richard

Obviously the event will still be worth attending as there will be plenty of other celebrities there. The charity itself is one that is near and dear to REG’s heart, so he’ll be there in “spirit” even though he can’t physically make it to the event itself.

Thanks to REG, Ruth and Joan for the update.

Old, Older & Slightly Newish

January8

I managed to do a bit more work on getting the “Fan Stuff” done, so today we have pages set up for the London meet with Jenna, Sarah, Joan and Denise which happened back in May 2003 (this one went “missing” for a while as I’d placed all the pics and emails in the wrong folder. Sorry about that guys!) You can check that out here.

I’ve also set up a page or two for Kerry and “Moostash”. Some of you may remember, from a previous news item, that Moostash is the name of the band that Kerry fronts. A couple of years or so back the band paid homage to REG and “Withnail And I” by writing and recording the song “Camberwell” and Kerry wrote to us here at the Temple to tell us about it. I’ve now put the song up on the Temple just in case the link “disappears” over time. For those of you who haven’t heard it before or those who just want a refresher, click here.

Last, but not least, we have a 2003 Christmas card from Stargazer which you can see on her page here.

Thanks guys!

More REGimental Stuff

January7

I’ve added new artwork pages for David, Genevieve from Canada, Krystle and Trish to the “Fan Stuff” section. You can check out David’s art here, Genevieve’s here, Krystle’s here and Trish’s here. Some of this stuff has been a long time coming (my fault, not anyone else’s) and I know that REG would be very honoured and appreciative to have the artwork up on the site. Thanks guys!

Time willing, I’ll add some more REGimental fan stuff tomorrow!

New REGimental Stuff

January6

I’ve spent the best part of today re-jigging the “Fan Stuff” section of the site and adding new material. I’ve split the menu bar into several sections to make things a little easier to navigate – similar to other sections of the site that I’ve reorganised. For instance I’ve put the Birthday Books in their own “space” (I know….I’m still slack with the 2003 Birthday Book but I should be putting that one up soon), separated the Withnail For Waterford event and fan meet-ups, and I’ve set up the artwork pages in alphabetical order.

Of course Pat features heavily when it comes to the artwork stakes. After all people have been enjoying Pat’s creations on the mailing list for just over 4 years now – and it shows! Pat now has 4 separate “page sections” just for her stuff alone! You can check it all out here.

Also in the revamped section is Djoeke’s wonderful wallpaper that you can download for your own PC (or Mac, if you’re fortunate to have one). You can find that here.

Finally, Joann informs me that Richard’s speech in “Withnail And I” has been put amongst the top 10 film speeches ever according to various newspapers around town. Yeah, but we knew it would be anyway!

:-)
