REG “Hankers” For Bacon

January26

According to Rosemary, on the BBC Breakfast show a couple of Fridays ago (16th January), they paid a visit to the Borough Green market and talked to the stallholders about all the films that had been made in the area, and the stars etc.

Of course, “Keep The Aspidistra Flying” was mentioned, and the lady who runs the hot snacks stall said that Richard’s favourite was a bacon sarny, (sandwich, for the benefit of friends who don’t know our horrible slang-speak!). Just thought you would like know.

Thanks Rosemary.

And for all those Aussie REG fans out there (of which I’m one), Happy Australia Day!

It is taken from an original screenplay conceived and written by debutant director Edouard Nammour in his first feature film. Nammour has earned numerous awards including two Emmys for his work in commercials. He has also directed a number of short films over the years. He recently completed “Trifles,” based on a short story from the 1900s, which he adapted, directed, edited and scored.

The film is co-produced by Zygi Kamasa and Simon Franks of Redbus Pictures, the new production arm of Redbus Film Distribution (temporarily known as Helkon SK). Kamasa and Franks previous producer credits include award winning “Bend it Like Beckham”, David Cronenberg’s “Spider” and forthcoming “Grand Theft Parsons” starring Johnny Knoxville. Distribution credits include the hits “Jeepers Creepers”, “The Gift”, starring Cate Blanchett, Maybe Baby, starring Hugh Laurie and “Bend It Like Beckham” starring Keira Knightley and Parminder Nagra.

Redbus Pictures have teamed with Susie Brooks-Smith of Archangel Filmworks. Brooks-Smith, who is from a journalistic background, has production credits including “The Spirit of Pushkin” and “Mummy Doesn’t Live Her Anymore” for the BBC. Tooth is her first of eight features in development to go into production.

Other cast info Tooth also stars Sally Phillips (“Bridget Jones’s Diary”, Emmy and Bafta award winning “Smack the Pony”) as Mom. Tim Dutton (“Bourne Identity”, “Ally McBeal”) as Dad and Phyllida Law (“Saving Grace”, “Peter and His Friends”) as the magical Mrs Claus.

The film stars outstanding young talent, Yasmin Paige (to be seen in the forthcoming release “Wondrous Oblivion”) as the mischievous Tooth, Rory Copus (“Goodbye Mr Chips”) as Tom and Maisie Preston (“Loving You”) as Tolly.

It features cameo roles from Richard E Grant (“Gosford Park” “The Little Vampire” “Jack & Sarah”) with Jerry Hall (who recently performed on stage in “The Graduate” and “The Vagina Monologues”) as his trusty side-kick.

Supermodel Caprice continues her travels to some of her favourite places. While in snowy Prague, she meets actor Richard E Grant, visits a beautiful Renaissance castle and dances the night away at one of the Czech capital’s most fashionable clubs.”

I don’t watch the Travel Channel, but I’ll tape it and get screengrabs of this one. I presume the six o’clock showing is a repeat.”
