Travellers with a passion for movies might be interested in a book being launched this month which brings together travel stories from a selection of well-known figures from the film world.

Lonely Planet’s Lights, Camera … Travel! features personal, funny, embarrassing and inspiring tales from famous actors, directors, writers, producers and more.

Alec Baldwin, Richard E Grant, Sandra Bernhard, Brooke Shields and Bruce Beresford are among the contributors to the book, along with Lakeview Terrace director Neil LaBute and Poseidon star Josh Lucas.

The new release is edited by Andrew McCarthy, a contributing editor at National Geographic Traveler, and Don George, who has overseen five previous Lonely Planet literary anthologies.

In their introduction, the pair state: “The premise behind this anthology is simple: since the ancient Greeks, actors have been society’s storytellers.”

“And ever since Hollywood first left the backlot, these storytellers have been travelling to far-flung corners of the world to tell those tales.”
