Richard and Jerry Hall interviewed on set of “Tooth” – Tuesday 10th June 2003

Richard appeared on the “This Morning” programme in the UK where he and Jerry Hall were talking from the set of a new film they’re making called “Tooth”. It was a very short and somewhat bizarre interview though, apparently, lasting only 3 or 4 minutes.

Richard is playing a retired fairy and wears a pale blue golfing outfit with an American baseball type cap (I noticed Burberry print on underside of eye-shade so this is probably up-market clothing). Jerry Hall (ex-model, ex Rolling Stone wife, currently actress) is playing Richard’s wife as well as a “fairy godmother”.

The plot was something about chaos in fairyland with all fairies going bad. One fairy is aware of the crisis and sets out to change things – enlisting the help pf Richard and Jerry. The fairy is played by a little girl (about 8 or 9)

Richard stated that he was working with three ‘troublesome’ little girls – not sure if he was amused or not? At one point the film clip showed him on-set sitting on floor with little girl next to him thumping his arm whilst he was listening to director – he looked like a patient father who was about to turn and correct errant child’s behaviour – ‘adults are talking, wait your turn!’ Then again he could’ve just been a bit distracted and they were just playing a game?

Richard was asked if the tooth fairy existed in Swaziland – it did – and the going rate was one old penny ‘which shows how old I am’. Interesting that the currency was British? It also seems that Richard was cheated on that “deal” – as fairies tend to leave silver coins and not copper ones!
