Richard E. Grant Helps BGC Raise Millions For Charity

September11

gosh.org – 11th September, 2012

Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity was absolutely delighted to be chosen again as one of BGC’s charity partners for their 8th Annual Global Charity Day which took place on Tuesday 11 September 2012.

The BGC trading floors at Canary Wharf welcomed four patients from Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) and a whole host of special celebrity guests.

Celebrity ambassadors Richard E. Grant, Gabby Logan, Jo Brand and Caprice turned out to raise vital funds for the Louis Dundas Centre for Palliative Care at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

The stars overcame their nerves and descended onto one of London’s busiest trading floors, some of them for the very first time. They joined licensed BGC brokers on the phones closing those all-important deals and helping to raise lots of cash for charities including Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.

Fun and games
BGC pulled out all the stops, turning their 18th floor atrium into an exciting Treasure Island, fully equipped with a giant pirate ship and entertainment from Captain Jack Sparrow!

Patients and their families got involved with loads of activities including cupcake decorating, painting and treasure map making. Patients Calvin, six, and Dominic, 13, were very excited to meet Gabby Logan and event host Natalie Pinkham.

Trading for Charity
Sadly, BGC was the largest corporate victim of 9/11, losing 658 staff in the attacks. Every year BGC holds a Charity Day in commemoration of the victims of September 11 where their offices around the world are visited by celebrities, on behalf of charities. 100% of the global revenues from the day are donated to 75 charities worldwide.

We are extremely grateful to the BGC Partners and it’s staff for inviting the charity to be involved in this amazing day.
