Sue W. sent me some information from the Brand Republic website which talks about Richard’s new involvement with the Oxfam organisation. It reads:

“Oxfam has hired Richard E Grant to star in a cinema ad for its ‘Make Trade Fair’ campaign. The ad, created and directed by Paul Weiland, whose credits include Mr Bean and Blackadder, focuses on the fact that African dairy farmers’ livelihoods are ruined by the EU producing too much milk, which Oxfam claims it ‘dumps’ on Africa.

Richard E Grant, the star of cult movie ‘Withnail and I’, is to appear in the hard-hitting Fair Trade cinema ad, which highlights the severe implications that irresponsible actions of western countries are having on poverty-stricken Africa.”
