Welcome To The REG Temple
The REG Temple is the official website for actor, author and director Richard E. Grant.
Richard has appeared in over 80 films and television programs, such as Withnail And I, The Scarlet Pinmpernel, Jack & Sarah, L.A. Story, Dracula, The Hound Of The Baskervilles, Gosford Park & The Iron Lady. In 2005 he directed his first major release, Wah-Wah.
This website is unique in that it has been run and maintained by volunteers and fans since 1998. For more information on its origins, please click here.

Richard will be filming “Making Waves” in October. Apparently it’s about the first “pirate” radio pop station in the 60’s and may be in reference to Radio Caroline which included a young Kenny Everett as one of the DJ’s. Some of you may remember that Radio Caroline was “ship based” and was nearly always just “going off” the station frequency as it was an illegal station (and therefore had a rather weak transmitter) which used to “borrow” air space wherever it could. Hopefully REG will be able to give us more of an insight in one of his up and coming Temple Reports.
Speaking of which, REG begins filming “Posh Nosh” in the U.K. next week. This is a series of 10 minute DYI cooking “shorts” with Arrabella Weir which are being filmed for the BBC. Stay tuned for REG’s next official Temple Report in which he talks a little about food and the act of preparing, eating and socialising around the dinner table. That should be up on the site within a day or two.
On other news – And just to confuse matters a little – “A Case Of Evil” has been re-titled to the more simplistic “Sherlock” and is expected to have an American premiere on the USA Network sometime in October.
And finally we’re yet to confirm on REG’s “appearance” as a voiceover in a television advertisement for Homepride in the U.K. Stay tuned for more on this.
Thanks to Sue, Barbara and Joan for the news.

The Guardian Weekend – 24th August, 2002
Here is Richard E. Grant (above) stepping into the shoes once filled by Status Quo – As he appears in a new advert for catalogue chainstore Argos.
The cheap graphics and Quo’s unmistakable “Whatever You Want” soundtrack have gone and in comes the Withnail And I actor with Ab Fab’s Julia Sawalha.
In the ad, Richard plays a hippy rock star on the comeback trail when his wife suddenly moves out and leaves him with nothing but his guitar and an empty flat.
His personal assistant, played by Julia, comes up with the cunning – and quite frankly instantly sackable – idea of decking his flat out in new gear from Argos. Richard loves the finished result and is even more impressed when Julia convinces him the furnishings were done by a Lithuanian designer named Arr Ghoos.
The ad is the first in a series that will feature Richard and Julia.
The above clipping was spotted in the 17-23 August 2002 edition of the “Hot Stars” Magazine – which comes free with the UK OK! Magazine.
