Unconfirmed, but Richard may possibly be here tonight according to this gossip that Sue W. chanced upon. It’s a little late to confirm all of this with Richard but if you’re in the area you might want to check it out?

Friday 8th November, 2002
The gala screening of Anita and Me played to a packed house at the Odeon West End, whose rapturous welcome overwhelmed the cast and crew.
Actors including Kerry Fox, Richard E Grant and Alexei Sayle were also in the house to support what is likely to become one of the biggest British movies of the year.

A night out for REG and Joan.

For everyone else not living in Scotland (and therefore not being able to receive the chat show programme, “Elaine”) according to Kirsten REG has apparently appeared on it just recently.
Does anyone out there have a video of this appearence or should we all start bothering the BBC for a copy of it?

A while back a few people inquired on the mailing list about the Shooting Party Charity Event held a few months back and if it went well. Below is Richard’s response, along with some other news he included.
“We raised an enormous amount at the charity shoot, however the final sum is still under wraps as we potentially have an enormous sum coming from the auction of lunch with Nelson Mandella at his home in Johannesburg for ten people. We are legally bound to stay schtum until all is finalised, before making the announcement, hence my silence.
Am about to start filming on “Bright Young Things” by Evelyn Waugh, directed by Stephen Fry.”
Richard also adds:
“Could you possibly post this flyer info on the website? I am doing a reading from my diaries and question and answer session at the Orange Tree Theatre in Richmond on Sunday evening, 17th November to raise money for the local Shooting Star Children’s Cancer Hospice of which I am a trustee.”
Sue W. informs me that VCI have announced the DVD release of the BBC2 TV series, The Kumars at No. 42. Has anyone out there seen the new Argos ad? It’s been on the last two nights in the U.K. and is longer than the other Argos Christmas ad (in which REG is wearing a sleeveless t-shirt and says he will have to get changed as Christmas is so near.) According to Denise the basic premise is that REG gets his personal assistant to buy pressies ordering her to “Make me look generous”. What follows is a general Argos catalogue bit, then a shot of a massive country house with snow drifting decoratively about. Inside is a HUGE party – loads of people opening pressies and enjoying themselves. REG is sword-fighting youngsters with laser swords. Finally PR suggests tentatively that someone may have been overlooked? REF assures her that’s not the case and opens front door to reveal gift-wrapped Ferrari, number-plated ZACK, “Happy Christmas to me!”
Thanks to Sue W. Joann and Denise.
