Birth Defects Foundation’s Newlife Appeal

Two snippets today – One from 1999 and the other from 2000. The first is an excerpt from an article about prominent film directors and their first foray into the field of film making. Naturally it includes Bruce Robinson and his masterful Withnail And I. You can read that here.

The second is a brief passage mentioning REG from an article on “ugly men” in the media. You can read that here. Ugly indeed!!

Just further on Withnail, Vickie informs me that in this week’s issue of US Entertainment Magazine there is an article on the 50 Top Cult movies, which lists Withnail And I at number 35! There was also a little pic included. Pretty cool considering that it’s an American mag and a small budget British film.

Another Posh Nosh article has been added to the Temple site. This one is from a January edition of The Evening Standard and was sent to me by Denise (although Denise originally got the article from Joan, so thanks heaps to both parties.) There’s a cool pic of REG in a hotel room in Surrey that accompanies the article, and you can see that here.

I’ve also included a short snippet which rates Withnail and I as the 3rd best comedy film of all time. It’s from the Guardian Unlimited website and dated from September 2000. You can see that here.

Finally, Rosemary has told me that she has just seen Richard on the BBC2 Chelsea Flower Show programme. When asked if he was enjoying the Show, REG replied that he felt “like Charlie in the Chocolate Factory”! Flowers anyone?

Various pages for the Waterford-Kamhlaba School Clay Shoot are now up on the site. Most of you who visit the site regularly would have seen these already in the “News” section, but they’ve not had their own pages until now. For those of you who haven’t seen them, you can check out the 2001 clay shoot here and the 2002 clay shoot here.

I’ve also put up the (fairly) recent Red Nose Day piece about REG slapping TV comic Doon Mackichan’s naked arse during a Lady Godiva stunt for Comic Relief on Clapham Common, South London. There’s no actual pics of REG doing this unfortunately, but you can still read about it here.
