Doctorin’ From Doctor Who Magazine

December5

Some Doctor Who stuff today – albeit older rather than more recent news. I’ve added a couple of articles – one short and one long – to the website that I’ve had “in stasis” for a couple of months. Most of the regular news watchers would know, or have read, about these pieces already but, for the rest of you, I’ve added the transcript to the recent Doctor Who Magazine article which has previously only been up on The Temple website as scanned pages. The transcript is courtesy of Sue W. and you can read that here. You can also read the DWM “primer piece” for the above article here, which comes courtesy of Jolie.

And don’t forget the BBCi webcast “The Scream Of The Shalka” is still in full swing, having just broadcast the fourth episode (with about three more to come over the next few weeks). It’s a rollicking story, as many of the viewers would attest to, and has received much critical acclaim already. You can check it out for yourself by going to the BBCi Doctor Who website at http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/doctorwho/shalka/

Third Day Of Reviews

December4

The last of the reviews are now up on the Temple site. Of course this doesn’t mean the last of ALL reviews, merely the reviews that I’ve had backlogged in my “to do” tray for so long. To read a review for “Posh Nosh”, click here, “A Case Of Evil / Sherlock” here, “Jack And Sarah” here, “Strictly Sinatra” here, “Henry And June” here and “Keep The Aspidistra Flying” here.

More Film Reviews

December3

Another bunch of old reviews for you today. These ones come courtesy of Denise, Scott, Maureen and Sue W and are for “Posh Nosh”, “Jack And Sarah”, “Hildegarde” and “Monsieur N”. You can check out the “Posh Nosh” reviews here, here, here and here, “Jack And Sarah” here, “Hildegarde” reviews here and here, and finally “Monsieur N” reviews here and here.

Phew! I’m almost all of the way through my backlog of film reviews so I should have the last of them in the next day or so. Thanks everybody for sourcing these.

Extra Reviews On Site

December2

I’ve uploaded half a dozen (or so) “new” reviews to the site. While five of the eight are indeed rather recent reviews for “Bright Young Things”, there are a couple of new reviews for older films – specifically Gosford Park and Withnail And I – courtesy of the Fantasy Film League website that Gary informed the REGiment of a number of months ago. There’s also an older review by Bruce Fretts for “The Scarlet Pimpernel”.

To check out the reviews for “Bright Young Things” (all sourced by Denise I should add), click here, here, here, here and here.

To check out the review for Withnail And I, click here, to read the review for Gosford Park, click here and, finally, to read the review for “The Scarlet Pimpernel”, click here.

Stars Quizzed – Raising Awareness Of Deafness

December2

H4>OK Magazine – 2nd December 2003

Stars of the big and small screen gathered at the Counting House Pub in London to raise awareness for the National Deaf Children’s Society.

Richard E. Grant, Celia Imrie and Claire Goose were among those who took part in the pub quiz that saw “The Fast Show” table get first prize, just ahead of the team from “Teachers”.
