REG To Promote “Colour Me Kubrick” On ITV

March31

According to both Joan and Denise, Richard will be appearing on tomorrow’s “This Morning” program on ITV (10:30am) to help promote the new film “Colour Me Kubrick” and show some behind-the-scenes footage. Denise has also sent me the following details of tomorrow’s programme:

This Morning – 1st April at 10:30am

Magazine presented by Fern Britton and Phillip Schofield. Charlize Theron talks about her Oscar-winning portrayal of a serial killer in Monster, Alex Best challenges fashion guru John Scott in Beat the Stylist and there’s a behind-the-scenes report about catering from the set of the British film Colour Me Kubrick. Including ITV News Headlines, Local News and Weather at 10.55, and ITV News Headlines at 11.55.

Based on past experience, when they say “tomorrow” it might not necessarily show until the following day like they did re “Tooth” – we played a cat and mouse game getting the right day for that! Prime those video recorders nonetheless!

Thanks guys!

Frasier Recording

March30

Tuesday 30th March 2004

REG flew to L. A. to play one of Daphne’s long lost brothers for the final one hour episode of hit US sitcom Frasier.

The sitcom ran for 11 years, with the end of the show marked by champagne toasts and embraces between cast and crew on set.

Star Kelsey Grammer hugged each member of cast in turn as the actors took their final bow before the audience.

The show won a record 31 Emmy Awards since beginning as a spin-off of the comedy Cheers in 1993.

The Paramount studio stage that had been used during the show’s life was filled with an audience of several hundred, including family and friends of the cast.

A dinner was served to the audience, with star Peri Gilpin – who plays Roz – handing out pizza to guests.

Other guest stars on the final episode included Laura Linney, Anthony LaPaglia, Robbie Coltrane, Jason Biggs and Jennifer Beals.

<"I'm never working this show again," Grammer joked at one point after receiving the wrong direction from a member of the crew. The last episode of the show includes a scene where the Seattle psychiatrist recites a play by Alfred Lord Tennyson with the line "That which we are, we are". The finale also remembered one of the series' creators, David Angell, who died in one of the planes hijacked during the 11 September attacks on the US in 2001. The show won the title of best comedy show at the Emmy Awards - the US TV industry's main honours - every year from 1994-8. The final hour-long episode will be broadcast in the US on 13 May 2004.
