Comedy (Food & Wine Critic Simon Marchmont)
Richard plays Simon Marchmont, an arristocratic restaraunt owner and wine critic who presents a 10 minute DIY cooking program with his wife, Minty. In Simon’s own words:
“Welcome to the world of Posh Nosh. For me, this is a dream come true. All my life, I’ve wanted to bring extraordinary food to ordinary people.”
Arrabella Weir plays the part of Minty Marchmont and also wrote the series.
Best REG line: Many great one-liners in this series of shorts.

Adventure / Historical (Laurence Oliphant)
Captivating saga of explorer Sir Richard Burton and his search for the source of the Nile River in the late 1800s. Bergin is a charismatic lead, with Glen as John Hanning Speke, the dilettante who accompanies him. Vivid, stimulating, and satisfying; manages to embrace the sweep of an epic film along with a compellingly personal story. Screenplay by Rafelson and William Harrison, based on the latter’s biographical novel Burton and Speke and on actual journals of the two explorers.

Drama (Sir Hudson Lowe)
Richard is currently shooting "Monsieur N" in South Africa and Paris. The film is about Napoleon’s last year on St. Helena and REG is playing the English governor, Sir Hudson Lowe who was accused of poisoning the emperor. A complete bastard role and very enjoyable to do, apparently!

Drama ()
Richard will be filming "Making Waves" in October. Apparently it’s about the first "pirate" radio pop station in the 60’s and may be in reference to Radio Caroline which included a young Kenny Everett as one of the DJ’s. Some of you may remember that Radio Caroline was "ship based" and was nearly always just "going off" the station frequency as it was an illegal station (and therefore had a rather weak transmitter) which used to "borrow" air space wherever it could.
It now appears that REG will not be seen in this film as apparently the finance has fallen out of it. If the situation changes we’ll let you know.
Best REG line: None, because this film doesn’t exist — not yet anyway!

Comedy / Romance (Roland Mackey)
Steve Martin wrote and stars in this film about a wacky TV weatherman trying to sort out his life. It revolves around his life and the superficial people he mingles with in L.A. There is a cute thing with a talking road sign that sounds bizarre, but works quite well in the film. REG plays Roland Mackey, one of the weatherman’s “cocktail set” friends who all sit around tables trying to decide which kind of decaffeinated boutique coffee to buy in a restaurant. This film is better the second time you watch it.
