Two Surrey schoolchildren took to the stage alongside the Hollywood actor Richard E Grant and TV’s Zoe Tyler for the premiere of new show Triqueta at Guildford Cathedral.
Thalia Edwards, nine, from Peaslake and Meg Ganjou, ten, from East Clandon won their places in the production after an X Factor-style competition that attracted over a hundred hopeful youngsters from across Surrey.
Triqueta, which was composed by Witley resident Joe O’Connor, follows the heritage of the Celts from their dawn to the present day and featured its own 40-piece orchestra, a rock band plus a full choir and supporting cast of dancers and singers.
Richard E Grant narrated the show live and Zoe Tyler dazzled the audience as Triqueta’s lead singer.
Writer Rebecca Dakin, of "The Girlfriend Experience", has revealed that she's recently been filming with Richard E Grant for BBC Worldwide. A post on her site states:
"A few weeks ago I did some filming with Richard E Grant for a new documentary that’s due to be aired on BBC Worldwide in the Autumn. Richard was the perfect interviewer. In fact he was that good that I didn’t actually realize that the interview had started! It took me about 2 minutes. Doh! Well I am blonde after all He made me feel like I was in an intimate, private conversation with him, rather than in a studio with about 9 other people. He was interested, open minded, none judgmental and a real gentleman. Anyhow that’s all I can say right now, apart from after interviewing little old me he went to interview Brit Ekland! Richard emailed me afterwards to tell me he had been singing my praises to TV stations, so you never know, next I might have my own show."
