It appears that Richard once did a cameo role as a gay Nazi in Martin Sherman’s stageplay “Bent” way back in June 1989?

The play was a single performance charity production to benefit the Stonewall Group (gay rights activists) and the cast also included Ian McKellen and Ralph Fiennes. The play was at the Adelphi Theatre, London and was directed by Sean Mathias. You can read all about that here.
