The
Player
Comedy (Tom
Oakley)
Tim Robbins plays a paranoid young movie
executive who is threatened by a disgruntled screenwriter - until he
begins taking the law into his own hands. It's a biting examination
of Hollywood's greed and power, directed by Robert Altman. This marks
the first time REG got to work with him, the second time being in Prêt-à-Porter.
This is a great film, very clever and well written. I enjoyed it immensely.
REG plays Tom Oakley, a schmoosey writer/producer who pitches a ridiculous
idea for a movie, along with his "partner" Andy Civella, played by Dean
Stockwell.
Best REG
line: This story is too damned important to risk being
overwhelmed by personality. |
